Museum Description

The Kendall County Jail was built in Boerne in 1887, and as the saying goes, “if these walls could talk…” Well, in a way, they can! The jail has been maintained and restored by the Friends of the Kendall County Historic Jail, and the museum they’ve created celebrates the history and heritage of this Hill Country county. You’ll find exhibits with artwork and artifacts that tell the story of local law enforcement, agriculture, cattle drives, communications, moonshiners, and more! The Old Jail Museum is open 10 AM to 5 PM Saturdays. Admission is $5.00 for those 11 and older. Vets and members of law enforcement get in free!
