Description

Sometime around 1850, the Jacob Biry family home was built in Castroville by Alsatian (French) immigrants; the home’s history is representative of this Hill Country town. The Biry homestead has been lovingly restored, and it now serves as the Castro Colonies Living History Center! It’s an immersive historical experience for all ages, where knowledgeable and talented performers tell the tale of their part of the Hill Country in authentic period dress. The Castro Colonies Living History Center is open Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM, and Sundays from 1 to 4 PM. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed.
