In the 1840s, visionary Henri Castro led the immigration of over 8,000 people from the Alsace region of France to what is today known as Castroville. Central to the growth of this Hill Country town is the Landmark Inn complex, which in 1972 was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors who take the guided tours here will learn everything from Castro’s influence on the region to the civic, political, and business roles Castroville has played. Guided tours are given daily until 4 PM. Admission is $4 for adults over 18 and $3 for kids 6 to 18 and seniors; kids under 5 get in free.
