A celebration of Castroville’s Alsatian history!

Description

Many of the European immigrants who founded and built Castroville came from the Alsace region of northeastern France. To celebrate and preserve this history, good folks on both sides of the Atlantic have carefully established the Steinbach Haus! It’s a genuine 17th century Alsatian home that’s been painstakingly relocated and restored right in Castroville. Opened to the public in 2002, the Steinbach Haus stands as a tribute to the French influence on this historic Hill Country town. It’s open for viewing Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday 11 AM to 3 PM.
