Our family is forever grateful for the quick response and quick access in our time of need. We were turned away by so many while evacuating hurricane Laura. Not only were we turned away, but we watched prices double and triple and felt hopeless..but not this place. These owners are the epitome of Texas hospitality. We didn't expect to find this gem, and to be so comfortable..it was like the stress melted away. It's beyond beautiful and had everything we needed. We spent hours swimming in the river, and if we needed groceries we just walked to the store. Every restaurant we ate at was 3-5 minutes away. It's right down the road from an amazing park where we fished and fed ducks, my son was thrilled..(he's a duck whisperer). The view on the porch was amazing and entertainment on it's own, and the river downstairs was so cool and clear. What was an evacuation turned into a vacation and we all pledged we would be back! Also, there's a restroom in every room...i swear that's the most convenient amenity in the world!!

Great house, lovely decor, interesting location, beautiful view behind the house and river access. We loved the amazing deck for morning coffee and lunch, it is in direct sun in the afternoon and with temps about 100 during our stay and no cover, we stayed in the river or inside until sunset. Great place for star gazing! We loved walking to local coffee places and to restaurants for take-out. The river was low during our stay but the cool water was great for swimming and fishing. It's a an energetic trek from the house to the river, young children would need help. We enjoyed the house, outdoors, and space to spread out inside. Everything we needed in the kitchen and more towels than we could have used. Nice place for fun family time together! Municipal river access to a deeper part of the river is a half mile down the road at a city park.

Bandera Box was a lovely place to stay with family and friends during our spring break. The location was unique in providing city life out the front door and private backyard beautiful wilderness views from the back deck perfect for early morning coffee, family cookout picnics , and great walks along the Medina river. We were able to take great day trips into Fredericksburg and to Lost Maples reserve and just spend time in Bandera. The three separate sleeping spaces were great. The place was beautifully decorated and filled with everything you might need from reading materials, sun hats and wifi charging areas. Everyone in our party from college age to grandma loved being there. Our hosts were readily available and accommodating to our needs.

We had a wonderful time at the Bandera box house, river was refreshing and so clear! We had never heard of the Medina river and will definitely plan another trip. Super clean house, 4 bathrooms! Wow! Made it so much better with the number of people we had. Kitchen was easy to work in, deck was a wonderful place to set up our hammocks and look at the stars, and all the deer in the meadow every night was a treat! Bandera was a quaint little town with lots of charm and everyone we spoke with was super friendly and helpful offering things to see and do.

Wow. Awesome rental property. Me and my family went to Bandera for a two-day recharge. First time going to Medina River and was a bit hesitant of what to expect as i have been to the Frio and Guadalupe River on other occasions. This rental property exceeded all my expectations and then some. The house was a hit with my son and three of his best friends. They stayed in the bunk room and probably did not sleep much considering all the laughter i heard at night. The master is just far enough for a very restful night. My daughter and one of her friends stayed on the third bedroom. This place has four full bathrooms need i say more. Now for the backyard. Wow, wow, huge deck, beautiful scenery, so much privacy. Like i mentioned earlier i have been to the other main rivers during peak summer months, both are packed and full of crazy teenagers and young adults and a few adults behaving badly. We had about 2 acres and the whole Medina River all to ourselves. Not one single person crossed our part of the river all weekend. Forgot to mention that the house is stocked with everything you need. Rent this house you won’t regret it. My regret did not rent it for a longer stay.
