Property Description

The Medina River flows through the Texas Hill Country, and it's a vacation hot spot for fishing, tubing, swimming, you name it. Plan your next holiday where you'll have your own private access to the river at a gorgeous Medina River cabin! The kid-friendly Bandera River House is a big and beautiful home away from home right on the banks of the Medina, with all the fun of the Cowboy Capital of the world just a short drive away. This waterfront cabin getaway is home to river livin' at its finest!

The Bandera River House is located on a spacious three-acre plot, where a meadow populated with local birds and wildlife spreads out between the cabin and the river. The famed splendor of the Hill Country walks right up to the back door of this perfect vacation rental, and the events, food, history, and night life of Bandera are just minutes from this countryside paradise.

Picnic tables and outdoor furniture are shaded by tall trees, setting the perfect stage for conversation, relaxation, wildlife watching, stargazing, or just relaxing. The fire pit also has a wire grill, so it can double as a grill. There's also a chimenea-a small pot-bellied outdoor fireplace that's ideal for roasting weenies and marshmallows. Smoking is allowed here, as long as it's done safely outdoors.

The cabin's interior is adorned with warm and rustic woodwork on the floors and walls. With a total of two bedrooms and seven beds, the River House features comfortable sleeping accommodations for up to a dozen guests. The full bathroom includes a shower, and all bed and bath linens are included. There's a wide-open living room and dining room area with plenty of furniture, an electric fireplace, a long dining room table, and even a gaming table! The laundry room's equipped with a washer and dryer, and the kitchen has an oven, range top, and fridge. All the cookware and serving ware you'll need are here, too. The TV and VCR/DVD player comes with a library of movies, and satellite TV is available for a modest fee. Comfort is assured with ceiling fans and A/C and heating units, and there's a local land line phone, as well as great cell service.

It was a fun weekend getaway for us. Casual and cute cabin, well situated and rustic views, lots of deer. The kids loved walking through the short pasture to the river which was lovely and cool, and we saw hardly a soul.

We had a blast at the cabin. We walked to the river each day which is beautiful and not too far. It was a great way to explore nature with the kids. It's not just a house at the river, there is lots of room to roam and explore. This is an heirloom family cabin that appears to have been in their family for many generations. Very special to have lots of kids games on hand, art supplies, and big common areas inside and out to all be together and make meals. All the cooking essentials were there and lots of extra bedding and towels. There is nothing fancy here to worry about your kids messing up. You can just bring the family, relax and have fun.

This place was really great, I would stay again! Access to the river was easy and we found a beautiful place down the dirt road to the right to swim and hang out for hours. We drove a Ford F-150 down to haul our river supplies, I’m not sure if a vehicle any larger would fit through the 2 gates. The house was wonderful, especially the kitchen and great room areas which met our needs very well. The window air conditioning units kept us cool, but they do need a deep cleaning. The bathroom and two bedrooms are small areas, so we used them only as necessary, try not to overpack, as space is limited in those rooms. I’ve made a couple of suggestions for improvement in those areas. They need a deep cleaning, and real door knobs with locks. These were not deal breakers for us- only needs slight improvement. The outdoor area and furniture were convenient and the kids enjoyed playing in the big yard with trees and woods. Hint: use bug spray, and there are cushions for the outdoor furniture in the laundry room. This is a cute older home that met our needs well, and the access to the river was our favorite amenity. The kids had plenty of space to play, indoors and out. Overall, it was all we had hoped for

Host are very attenative, you can contact at any hour of the day, they always respond. House has everything you need. Kitchen, bathroom fully stocked. Plenty of games, arts and craft for kids. Beds are comfy. Short walk to the river. Very quiet and no one around. Just what I needed.

Was way more than we expected. The pictures don’t do this place justice. There was plenty of room for 4 adults and 5 kids and we could of fit more if needed. This house is stocked with everything you need and more. The kitchen seems small in the pictures but it is not, and they have everything you need to cook inside or out. The sitting area outside has plenty of chairs and a lot of shade. We did a seafood boil and had plenty of table space and room. The drive down to the water is only a couple minutes and we found a perfect little swimming hole with rapids too. We enjoyed our stay and we definitely be coming back!

So glad I booked the MRH for our family vacation! Our party consisted of 1 toddler, 2 kids, 4 teenage girls and 2 adults. Our first time to this area and we had a blast. We were looking for privacy and a way to decompress from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and we were able to do just that! River was a little low during our visit, but we were still able to swim and hang out on our tubes. Trails gave us easy but private access to different parts of the river. Plenty of living space in this quaint, beautiful home! Our 2 younger kids enjoyed all the games, movies and craft table our hosts provided. Definitely looking forward to coming back and bringing the extended family next time! The only downside was the one bathroom, but even with 4 teenage girls we were able to make it work!
