Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The way the property is laid out, you feel like you are the only ones within miles, although there are properties nearby. Nice views of the surrounding hills. Enjoyed having the horses grazing outside each morning. The cabin is attractive and comfortable, with ample amenities. An electric entry gate would be a nice addition for the future. Close proximity to Bandera and Boerne. Butch, our host was attentive without being intrusive.

This may be my favorite cabin we have rented, because of the setting. Located almost midway between Bandera and Boerne, It sits on 5 acres, and there are no close neighbors visible, so we had great privacy, but with all the windows we had an expansive view of the surrounding hills. The porch and patio call you to be outside, and we didn’t see a single mosquito. The two horses are in the yard during the morning hours, adding to the peaceful scene. The cabin itself is relatively new, and well appointed, with a full size fridge, stovetop (no oven), a microwave, and regular coffee maker (coffee provided, but bring your own creamer). The tap water has a strong sulfur smell, but ample jugs of purified water are provided. The bed is comfortable. Good cell service with Verizon, and host said Wi-fi was coming the week after we left. Butch, our host, was very attentive without being intrusive. The one improvement we would have liked is a motorized gate with a keypad. We stayed several days, and manually opening and closing it grew old. But this place is relatively new, and I expect will experience regular enhancements.

Nice place situated between Bandera and Bourne. Very peaceful private place. Owners home a few 100 yds away but out of sight. Good knowing he is near in case we need something. He welcomed us, really nice and helpful guy. Cabin has been recently refurbished with new furniture. Horses show up in AM to say hello. Lots of wildlife. We enjoyed our time.

Butch (land owner) was a truly wonderful host. He checked in with us shortly after arrival and ran through the general lay of the property, amenities, and local hot spots. To our surprise, he even gifted us a souvenir so we would have some Pipe Creek memorabilia! Highly recommend The Hideout and Backroads Reservations! Awesome place!!
