Beautifully decorated, a lot of attention to detail. Well stocked and great customer service. The animals were a fun little surprise. My 9yo enjoyed being around them and Mrs. Jones was nice enough to educate him about them and even let him help her feed them. Overall it we had a great time and it was nice getaway.

The cabin was very comfortable. The king size bed upstairs was very comfortable, and lots of neat things decorated the place. There was a hammock that I meant to use, but didn’t get to it before we left. The property is great and there’s a barbecue pit, as well as a fire pit to sit around and make s’mores, both porches have comfortable seating, and the host provided quite a bit of food items, for breakfast. Milk coffee, biscuits, sausage, eggs, cereal muffins, pancake mix, fruit.. towels and toiletries were also included. Basically, u just need to bring ur own clothes and a little more food! Great place!

We loved our time here! The property is just like the photos - even better! Very clean and quiet. We loved the free range chickens and small longhorn herd - which we helped feed! At night, we enjoyed sitting at the back table enjoying s'mores under the starlight! We will definitely be back !

Everything as expected & More! We loved the property, the location, chickens & livestock, the campfires; didn't even have to worry about buying firewood. Having a stocked refrigerator with breakfast items was a bonus, thank you! We couldn't find the matches because they blended so well into the kitchen decor- how we laughed at that after the fact. Thank you Joan for bringing us more matches and responding to our call. Comfy beds. My girls were not bothered by little or no cell phone reception because there were so many nature distractions for them to see and interact with. The house pictures, (to me), made the house seem bigger than we really needed, but the house was just the right size for the four of us to be comfy and cozy. Liked the Western/Indian decor, in particular a few items stood out: The Turtle Shell Indian artifact, Ice box cabinet and the Iron stove end table (used as decor); this brought up some loved family memories of our own. Loved opening the front door in the morning to hear the birds in the front porch tree singing. Open the back and see horses and maybe even the host's cat. This property sits on a hill with the host's house next to it, but you feel like you are by yourself because it's so quiet. Your view of the hill country landscape is beautiful when you walk out that front door. The drive up to the house from the highway is typical hill country: down, turn, cross a dry river bed, up, turn, while the longhorn cattle check you out! Just wished we had more time to stay longer. Will definitely be back. Thank you Joan for being such a great host!

This house is a great place to stay. The quiet front porch and patio offer an amazing view of the Hill Country landscape. We were on motorcycles and the entrance to the driveway was a bit challenging, but we managed well. Very convenient to Medina and the beginning of the Twisted Sisters. Convenient to Bandera and the nightlife and good restaurants. Our host offered suggestions for places to eat and to visit while we were there. We got there early and she didn't hesitate to let us put our bags inside so we could get on the road to ride the Sisters. When we got back we were exhausted and it was so nice to be able to cook our dinner without having to go back into town. Breakfast was easy to prepare and the simple bacon and eggs were delicious. Fresh eggs! Loved the chickens out in the yard. I will go back!
