The rural location, in tandem with its closeness to Kerrville, makes it one of the best weekend getaways in Texas, no matter what's on your itinerary. This cozy getaway vacation spot houses up to four, and kids are also welcome. The property shares access to the Guadalupe River with two other cabins and several RV's, but on this spacious lot, neighborly congeniality is assured!

Since the Cabin at River Run is a tree-lined riverfront property, you'll have your own little slice of the Guadalupe to use as you please! Fish or swim from the shore, or use the natural tube shoot (located right by the nearby island) for a peaceful float down the river. Just want to kick back? No problem! There's a shaded deck, picnic table, and charcoal grill for your outdoor gatherings-all decked out with patio furniture. This weekend getaway cabin is also pet-friendly; bring your four-legged friends along, let them romp, or take them along on a sightseeing hike. Animal lovers will be rewarded when they catch a glimpse of the wildlife that uses the Guadalupe to wet their whistles.

Inside, you'll find a warm and welcoming Lone Star-themed decor, with a queen bed and double futon that comfortably sleep up to four. There's a bath with shower, satellite TV with a DVD player, and heat and A/C for inside comfort. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, oven and range top, fridge and coffee pot. All bed and bath linens are included. There is no land line phone on the premises, but good cell coverage is available. Washer and dryer facilities are included, located at the nearby Bath House.

“As always it was a pleasure staying with Backroads. Our host was more than hospitable. Amongst the wildlife we got to enjoy his cute little dog, Honey Mae, who greeted us every morning.”

Backroads is the perfect spot for a long weekend. Beautiful piece of property that borders the Guadalupe. The cabin was immaculate but we wanted to spend most of our time outside anyway! We enjoyed watching the deer, sitting in the river and the amazing view of the stars at night. We have already recommended this spot to several friends

Cabin had everything we needed, and the property is GORGEOUS! Feed the deer in the morning or evening, enjoy the river just STEPS from the front door, and soak in some nature! David the manager is extremely courteous, and Backroads Texas was easy to book with, and extremely prompt with communication

Dave was an AMAZING host! Very kind, and he made us feel welcome! Best host we’ve ever had He feeds the deer in the morning and evening, so you are always seeing a nice group of deer very close on the property. He also feeds the ducks in the river to keep them around. Ask him to show you how his little dog helps him “golf.” :) The cabin was clean and cute! The bed is comfy. The kitchen is small but well-stocked with tools. The river is close, with space to wade, sit, or swim. You can do some fishing, but there wasn’t much luck for us. In the river, we saw tons of minnows, a couple catfish, several turtles, a snake (yikes!), and a beaver (yay!). Bring extra padding if you plan to sleep on the futon; it’s thin. If you don’t like bugs, this place might not be for you. It’s in a very “country” area. You’ll see lots of wasps and bugs around the grounds, but that’s how it goes in the country. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and we had a great time!

Cabin was clean and adequately supplied. Not a private cabin...other cabins/RVs on property. Small TV. Don’t recommend for more than 2 adults...futon sofa as 2nd bed. Nice location on river, but we were there in winter. It is a couple hundred-yard walk down to the river.
